Welcome to the Metaverse

Published in 1992, Snow Crash is the work of acclaimed science-fiction writer Neal Stephenson. The story centers around a protagonist named Hiro Protagonist and a virtual-reality using properties of the internet. In an Amazon.com review, Snow Crash is , "the portrayal of a future that is bizarre enough to be plausible." One of the most interesting aspects of the Metaverse is how it deals with status. The second and most interesting is the construction and representation of one's avatar (character embodied by the user). The better and clearer one's avatar, the more respected one is.
