Small Cameras
Small cameras can be used in an autopsy to assist and lead. The camera can show what the inside of the throat looks like or how far down in the wound the bullet is located before going and digging. The camera can be taken in to look at old scar tissue on the inside, what will be destroyed when the body is fully opened up. They have been used in the TV shows, but in real life there is not a lot of information on anything like them. If they do not exist now, then in a year or two they will. The crime scene TV shows are always a year or two before the rest of reality with the technology that they have on them. Not completely unrealistic, just ahead and leading their time. As of right now, those type of cameras, a small lens on the end of a stick that can be pushed into the body might be used more in surgery than in the autopsy room. The TV shows are ahead of their time, so in a few years they will be out for everyone to use.
The show that I know I have seen these type of cameras shown within one of teh past episodes, don't remember which one, was CSI:NY.
