Mental Augmentation
Modifications to the physical body are not all that the Singularity can give us, what about modification's of the mind? (And no I don't mean drugs) What if the world of bionics and biohacking opened up new possibilities for the human mind? The ability to think faster, perceive the world around us better, store information more clearly and differentiate stimuli more efficiently. These could all be possible as science brings us closer and closer to the ultimate culmination of our technologies. This is still a realm, mainly of theory and is seldom explored by scientists, with only the mapping of brain-impulses onto a microchip the most advanced idea in this field. But this area is ripe for exploration by theorist, futurist, and dreamers. The mind is the most powerful and mystyerious object we know, there is so much it can do on its own without modification, who knows what it could do if altered it could change our society for the better, or cause it to crash down around our ears. When you think about it, the brain is the corner stone of our existance as a species and as a society, without it there is no Humanity so tampering with it is a very dangerous proposition, one that will undoubtedly meet much opposition.
