Robotics Minisite

Robotics have come to play a dramatic role on life in the contemporary world. There are many different uses of robotics in industry which you may not even recognize. For this minisite, I have selected four industries where I believe that robotics technology has played a groundbreaking role: agriculture, construction, the military, and prosthetics. Although these new developments are very exciting and robotics technology has the potential to drastically alter human life and the way that we perform work and tasks, there are also ethical implications of the implementation of this technology. Some critics have argued that particularly in the field of manufacturing that robots are taking away jobs from human workers. Supporters of robotics technology would say that the robots perform the job quicker, more efficiently, and with perfect precision every single time. The pros and cons of using robotics must be weighed and in the coming years our society will need to make some difficult decisions about priorities and when robotics should and should not be used.

I have compiled some articles written on each of the subjects and collected some images depicting the concepts described.
