Little Bird

The Little Bird is an unmanned helicopter designed to gather information in combat or engage itself in combat. Created by Boeing, the Little Bird is controlled from the ground with GPS and tracking systems... The Little Bird can be programmed for dual pilot mode, single pilot mode, and unmanned flight operational mode. This helicopter has a very high payload capacity which makes it a very versatile aircraft. Its first flight was in 2004 with the supervision of an on board pilot and its first unmanned flight was in 2006.

Most of the missions set for the Little Bird are surveillance, resupply of troops in the battle field, and rescue any downed pilots. With its amazing payload of 1,090kg, the Little Bird definitely can make a difference when it comes to supplying and rescuing troops.

The Little Bird is also armed with 2.75in rockets and a 12.7mm GAU-19 gun for any resistance it may face during missions. The missiles are laser seekers and for more precise location of targets the Little Bird uses its aid of GPS.
