Implications of Artificial Intelligence

There are many different implications and issues associated with Artificial Intelligence. Many of these implications focus more on philosophical or ethical issues above all. The main question that many ask is that if a machine behaves and acts like a human, then should it be subject to the same basic rights as those of humans? This particular issue is important enough to some that the term "robot rights" has been coined to describe the issue.

Another common issue raised by theorists with regard to Artificial Intelligence deals primarily with the tenets of Moore's law, which attempts to describe the exponential increase in technological processing power of computers as time goes on. The concern with regard to Moore's law and Artificial Intelligence seems to be that Moore's law would suggest that there will come a time when Artificially Intelligent machines may out-pace humans in terms of brain intelligence.

These are just a few of the concerns and implications discussed by theorists and scientists with regard to Artificial Intelligence.
