In today's modern society, the internet is a very pervasive and influential tool. Things have progressed significantly since the internet first became popular for home-use. Dial-up is all but a thing of the past, and search engines are becoming increasingly more powerful. That's where Google comes in. For the longest time, there were only a handful of decent search engines in place, like Yahoo, Altavista, and Lycos, to name a few examples. Now, when someone goes to search for something online, you're pretty much guaranteed that they'll go to Google.
