A cyberpunk is a pilot of the future

In an environment of technological change we need cyberpunks to be our pilots to guide us through the future. As power becomes more decentralized, Leary suggests that we will become more and more reliant on the 'individual who accesses and steers knowledge/communication technology towars his/her private goals.' We will become less reliant on others and instead look for our own personal profit, pleasure, and growth.
